Millwall seal loan deal for Stoke right back Wilkinson

EXPERIENCED Stoke City right back Andy Wilkinson has joined Millwall on loan ahead of their trip to Wigan on Tuesday.

The Lions have agreed a 93-day deal for the 30-year-old, who has appeared over 100 times in the Premier League for the Potters.

Ian Holloway has beaten the likes of Birmingham and Fulham to secure Wilkinson's services for the next three months.

Millwall have been in the market for a right back ever since veteran Carlos Edwards suffered a season-ending injury against Nottingham Forest in September.

Wilkinson has played just five times since Mark Hughes became Stoke manager in 2013 and admitted recently that he was ready to move montauk-monster.com/pharmacy/adderall on.

"It's quite easy to get forgotten about when you're not playing," he said. "I think I need to go and play some games somewhere on loan and maybe see where my situation lies.

"I spoke to the gaffer last week and I think it's okay for me to go.

"You train hard every day, and I have done my best to get into the squad, but it is just not happening, so it's time for me to play some games and then review it from there.

"I need to get out to get some fitness, whether to go and come back, or to look for another club next season."

That covers RB for the time being, again it's a bandaid till the end of the season, but at 30 he is hopefully in his prime.

@glyngo Trouble is IH wont ply him for 4 week's,saying he has to get his fitness up to his level, then he get's injured in training, then the loan period is up and he goes back to Stoke.
I hope IH play's him from the start of his loan period.

Good news we have a RB with premier league experience, maybe bad news more tinkering with the defence. I hope it works out. NOLU WDC

Yes it is very weird and happens on every single article. But FFS mate, is there nothing in your life that can take your mind off this? You keep going on about it, why is it important to have so many likes? If your a school kid I'll understand, if your a grown man id say you need to get a life.

Would be happy if this happens.
Love Dunny but I think his time is up. He was a very weak link on Saturday in my opinion. No composure at all.
Holloway appointing him captain has made it hard for him not to be included but I think he is now a squad player rather than starting 11. Sorry Dunney but I think that time has come.
With Williams suspension he might move him to centre back but I personally hope not.
Hoping that the Stoke fellas joins us and Beevers or Shittu comes in to replace Williams.

I would keep Webster there and choose from one of those 2 to partner him.
Great to have options though and competition for places.
        Happy days I reckon.

Great news that we have got a proper right back in to replace Edwardes. I really don't want to see Dunne moved in to the middle at the expense of Beevers or Shittu though. Hopefully IH hasn't forgotten why he had to get Edwardes in to replace Dunne last season. Making Dunne captain was bonkers IMHO

Still think Beevers and Webster playing together week in week out and forming a decent partnership ? And when Williams is back put him in midfield as he is our best player and creates more ? Upson too for jimmy ??

@gman: I'd go with that but not to sure about Upson for Jimmy. Maybe as sub a couple of times just to see the difference, if it works better then yes switch it but 1 step at a time a.

@mitchamscaff: I just think upson more comfortable on the ball than jimmy , tackles better and got a goal or 2 in him ? I like jimmy he is a legend but look at sat, he should have had a least a shot on target when he blazed it miles from goal

So why do we persist in paying the wages of Mr Hoyte.

Still that will teach chief execs to sign players when we are manager less.

Interesting that no-one has mentioned Hoyte. So I'll do it. No right back and you still can't get in the squad. P*** off- you're a waste of space.
Dunne is no right back. Not much of a centre half either. But, he's the team captain so he'll be there or thereabouts. Anything but Shittu please.
What's happened with Pope? If we've learnt anything it's that we need 2 up front. Look what happened vs. Wolves when we had that. Fuller is an impact sub when required not a 90 minute man so we need another striker.
Please no more 'quality' wingers at the training ground.
Ollie I salute you. Finally, you're bringing players like Wilkinson in who WILL do a job. We're on the same page.
Get rid the deadwood and we'll be on our way.
