Millwall forward confirms he's over niggling hip injury

LEE Gregory says he has fully recovered from a hip problem after coming through 90 minutes for Millwall's U21s unscathed.

Gregory featured for the development squad in a 2-1 defeat by Leeds United on Monday as he made his return from injury.

The striker had several chances to score but found Leeds' goalkeeper in determined mood.

He said: "My injury was a funny one – at first we thought it was my groin, but it turned out to be my hip. That turned out to be better because there wasn’t a tear in my muscle.

"We think it was to do with the hard ground and my hip just locked up, causing a bit of pain in my groin.

"I have taken a few days off training and had a lot of treatment on it, so it was good to get some game time on Monday.

"I was so pleased to get back on the pitch because I have not had enough minutes this year. I was told that I could come off whenever I wanted to but I felt good so I stayed on.

"It was brilliant to get a run out and I was unlucky not to score.

"But it was one of those games where I could have been there for hours and not scored, whereas on another day I’d have got two of three goals."

Aha...so this maybe the cause of all our injuries...hard training ground, maybe they can install sprinkler system once we purchase the training ground (If that is still going ahead)

I know we're desperate for a decent goalscorer, but I think we should be patient with Gregory. Both Harris and Morison took a bit of time to find their feet at Millwall.

@Jim28: I've no idea why he hasn't been playing more - I'd love to have seen him play more and score a few goals.

I just don't think we can heap too much pressure on him when/if he does get into the team. The £250k fee is a lot by our recent standards, but it's peanuts compared to what lots of other clubs pay and unless you're paying big money you're not always going to get the finished product.

I miss the old dot matrix display; it was far clearer and more useful. Why would you want to look at the footage of the game on the screen when the real thing is right in front of your eyes?!

@Micky Lions: I agree but will go further and say that perhaps keeping Morison may have been a better option than signing either Fuller or Easter in bringing the lad on.

Buying BACK the training ground that we used to own that De Saveloy sold to some college!

Let's give Mr Gregory a run in the team! he won't come good unless we do that.

Aldo can you sort out the squad selector and make it so you can put any player in any position. For example the possibility of Abdou playing RB?

Give him a run in the first team now, not warming the bench up, cos I reckon he's gonna be better then we've got up front!

Give the lad a run out on Saturday, sounds like he is frothing at the bit. Doesn't necessarily need to play 90 mins but would like to see him start. Give him an hour at least. Who knows he could do the business then bring him off. But please give him good service.

If and when Ollie decides to start Gregory he must give him a run in the side. Even if he doesn't have a particularly good game, then stick with him for a few games at least.

To be fair no other strikers are exactly banging in goals so he can't do any worse.

He's further away from the first team now we've got Ricky & reggie up front. So he'll be lucky to get his place bk on the bench. What's going on with the scoreboard it's embarrassing. Ambler sort it out u nob.

I would put LG ahead of Ranegie and would start him ahead of Fuller as I think Fuller is a better impact player. Remember Morrison took a while to get going as did Sherringham, so be patient have faith and see you all Saturday. NOLU WDC!

Gone over to official millwall web site to get updates, I would rather pay and subscribe to this one than have these proxy adverts invading me constantly . This was a brilliant site but has been spoilt by money. We the supporters were never asked or given the option to subscribe, all ALDO says is "it pays for the site". Well maybe we would have done that had we been asked. Rant NOT over, shame when something really good gets f***** up by the powers that be, just like BRITAIN really me thinks.

I really do want to see LG given a run in the side,so now that his injury has healed we might see a bit more of him.
one thing that is a bit of a worry is the way forde is wandering up the pitch at one time against forest he was nearer the centre circle than was his own penalty area, against blackpool one of their players had shot at goal when forde was way out of his goal, had the guy been accurate forde would not have been able to get back and save.If he continues going so far up field i can see him getting caught out, this is not a knock at him just an observation.

Keep the ads as I'm not paying to come on a forum.
Aint got a pot to pee in as it is and now I might get charged for coming on NAD.
Why dont you do a vote ALDO and see who wants to continue with it being free and put up with some ads or who wants to pay so that there isn't any.
    I''ll start the voting.
I will not be paying to use News At Den

@wall2wall: A lot of people will have that attitude so it's inevitable some readers will leave. But News at Den is not a 'forum' - it's a news website and a lot of people come here to read the news. Others just like to comment and might not pay. The main problem is that the ads are annoying and aren't really that profitable, so as things stand NAD would probably die out eventually. We'll lose readers but the ones who use the site every day will pay (we're talking £2/month, nothing life-changing). And we also want to totally redesign the site and add new features (we've already paid for the player rating system and squad selector in the last few months) but we need more money to do that. The paywall, when it does come in, is going to be metered so you get X free articles a month anyway and if possible we might allow everyone to keep commenting.

        Thanks for replying.
I think you will lose a lot of posters which is a shame but ultimately it's your decision.
I have really enjoyed reading the articles and commenting and hope that you find another way.
Do you mind sharing with us how many readers at £2.00 a month you will need to achieve what you want.
I'm sure that we are not talking thousands so what about Millwall FC sponsoring the site and keeping it free whilst you get your additional finance?
I am genuinely interested as there is always more than one way to skin a cat.
        Cheers Alex.

@Alex Aldridge: do many people actually use the player rating feature or the squad selector?

These seem unnecessary additions especially if their inclusion is going to result in a paywall.

Not sure whether you could just keep it simple and limit the number of articles put up (some are a bit pointless).

Would that keep it free to use?

Sadly I think the site will 'die' if you go down the pay route.

Fans will use other sites, plenty of other options on the Internet.

It's up to you what you choose to do, maybe the introduction of a paywall will work out.

I just wouldn't unless you feel it has to be done in order to keep the site going.
