Exclusive: Former Bolton winger set to train with Millwall

FREE agent Chris Eagles is set to join Millwall on trial.

The Lions have held discussions with Eagles' representatives and organised for the winger to begin training with the squad tomorrow.

Boss Ian Holloway has been in the market for a wideman since Lee Martin suffered a knee ligament injury.

And he'll now run the rule over Eagles, 28, who has been keeping fit in a boxing gym since leaving Bolton in the summer.

Eagles told the Bolton News: "I feel really great at the moment, it has been a supportive environment, and I'm ready to go again now."

    As per last post. .get him..good player.
    I just hope he can do 90 mins.
    Last 2 games at home we seemed to run out of steam after 75 mins. I know we played our hearts out on Saturday but the fitness needs to be addressed. Woolford needs more help.

        @southstandview:

        were you at this game - he got a lot of stick after missing the penalty - he was giving it large - he is undoubtedly a good player - another ball player - him and Martinez with Williams and upson and chaplow, if he can stay fit - be the best mid we have had in a long time

            no he was poncing about long before the penalty - diving and play acting - you know we would never pick on players without a good reason

    We all know he's an half decent player, my only negative is another one who is probably about 4 to 6 weeks off of being match fit.

    Would be a good signing, hope his fitness is close to being up to the level required to start quickly. Don't want another 3-4 weeks to go player being brought in.

    Could this be the player to whip in a cross for the Watford man to head in those allusive goals we need?

    Ticks all the boxes on talent, age, ambition and always played well against us at the Den so should revel in the environment. Boxing is good training but he will need proper fitness before he could play a large part in games. Sign him up!

    On a negative note , is he carrying a slight long term injury ? hence no club & no contract ? Is he still hungry to play ? Will a millionaire northerner settle down south ?
    Positive note , He could be fantastic on the right hand side of our front 3. He can take free kicks with great accuracy. He would definitely improve our team.
