Martin: Wednesday will be Millwall's toughest test so far

LEE Martin has warned that Millwall will face their toughest test of the season so far at Hillsborough tonight.

Ian Holloway's side have won their first three games of the new campaign but Martin says the Lions cannot afford to be complacent against Sheffield Wednesday.

"This will be a bigger challenge than our first two Championship games," Martin said.

"Wednesday put together a good run at the end of last year and their manager seems to be doing the right stuff.

"We have to give them a bit of respect but we go there looking for the same again – another win. We want nine points from nine.

"We are in the habit of winning and there's nothing better than that. We've got a really strong mentality and everyone is enjoying every minute."

There were some heavy legs in the Millwall dressing room after Saturday's 1-0 win at Craven Cottage and Holloway may choose to freshen up his starting XI.

But taking a leaf out of Steven Gerrard's book, Martin added: "We go again.

"We've ticked off Fulham and now we're looking to take our next step forward.

"The competition for places might come into play now but that's down to the gaffer. If he sees fit to mix it up, then so be it.

"Everyone is preparing right. It was a light session on Monday but in the Championship you get used to playing two games a week – it becomes second nature."
