Millwall rule out move for ex-Blackpool and Palace winger

IAN Holloway has denied a national media report linking Millwall with a move for winger Elliot Grandin, who he managed at Blackpool and Crystal Palace.

Grandin is available on a free transfer after leaving Bloomfield Road at the end of last season but the Seasiders are said to be keen on re-signing the Frenchman.

The Lions, along with Brighton, have also been linked with the 26-year-old.

But Holloway said: "That will be an agent trying to stir up some interest.

"I have had Elliot quite a few times but that was then and this is now. He's a wonderful, elegant footballer but I won't be bringing him to Millwall."

A good player, but why sign another winger who is in the same category as Fred & Gueye?! He isn't better than what we already have!

I'd love us to sign Briggs and Gueye as both are young and add quality to the squad as well as pace in wide areas!

If we sign Briggs, I reckon Shittu & Robbo could be on their way out especially as Dunne, Briggs, Beevers, Webster would be the Centre Backs with all of them having a bit of pace!

@Longfield Lion: Also read that as lightweight, and we don't want that

Briggs is class, if we sign him it gives the option to push Malone further up as a winger.

@bordersarebest0170: If Malone does play more as a winger he will need to practice his crossing as he seemed to over hit everything last season.

@bordersarebest0170: Or the other way round, with Briggs as a winger, as I put in my post yesterday, on the back of my Fulham friend who says Briggs's positional sense is poor, which isn't much use for a defender.

@spartacus: Exactly Malone looked very good last year at left back, but when he played on the wing in previous games he looked League 1. I would still want Briggs but malone has to be 1st choice

Well a lot of people on here were saying we need cover if Malone is out, they didn't like the Argie , some didn't like LOWREY ( including me) or any of the other options like beevers etc , but Briggs looks like he could push Malone for selection.

I'd be happy if we signed the trial players we already have - and just bring in Matt smith or another FWD of that quality. With the youth and trial players combined - I don't think we'd do too bad.. But still think we need that 1 more option up front to continually pressure teams.

Main Strikers = Fuller, Easter, Gregory and Mcdonald .... Seconary strikers = Marquis (not up to the job - sorry son) IMO should replaced with one of the other youth lads, O'Brien or Pavey - as I feel Marquis has had a good few chances to prove himself.
Hopefully the new guys can hit the ground running, but I have my doubts- still think we need that danger man that makes defenders feel nervous as soon as they get the ball... (the oppositions defenders!) Come on Ollie, work your magic!

Not a bad player but if IH doesn't want him on a free, it must be saying something. Lots of people on here seem ok with losing shittu! Up until his injury he was solid in defence, litterally the wall in wall! Dunny on the other hand had always been suspect! Yes hes a lion heart but he just doesn't have the size, pace or presence! Always the weak link
