Millwall send shirt to supporter serving in Afghanistan

A MILLWALL fan serving with the British Army in Afghanistan has been sent a new away shirt as a gift from the club.

Gunner Kieran Moss was so chuffed with the surprise he posted a picture of himself with the shirt on Twitter.

"I emailed them to say I was out here and then received a parcel and letter saying here's a gift from Millwall!” he said.

Kieran, 20, has been serving in Helmand province for a month.

Lions manager Ian Holloway said: "This club cares about people, and especially people who care about other people.

"Who cares more than a soldier? They give up their lives to protect us.

"It's nice to know that we are followed by people who put their lives on the line for their country.

"Sending a shirt out there is a small gesture but I'd just like to say thank you to him for what he's doing for us."

Yeah, and I'm sure this story will be all over sky sports by this evening. .... NOT. This will be the only time when a millwall supporter is involved in a conflict and not a single news paper or channel will want to report it, T****** the lot of em.

It is stuff like this that makes you proud to be millwall. Supporters on the front line with the backing of their fellow supporters and club at home. It wont be in the media but who cares, we know what millwall is all about and that's all that matters. Top story.

Yeah it's last seasons top clearly, lets not belittle the occasion for him and he's happy with it , I'm sure his family are delighted with the gesture. Not much more you can ask for there is there.

    Well done Wall

I bought that top for £10 towards the end of last season.

Send him the new shirt for god sake. The amount of respect the club would get for it would be worth it.

On an un-related topic, i think we should look at signing Jordan Ibe from Liverpool! Young, quick, skillful winger who was on loan at Birmingham last season! He's from Bermondsey so you never know, may fancy a move down here

@bordersarebest0170: think he is on 50k at qpr!! Would have to at least half that to come to us !! But his 33 now so where ever he goes he will have to take a cut in wages, who knows maybe a 2 year deal on 25k a week with option to 3rd year if he hits targets

Regarding the shirt,it's the gesture that counts, if I was in the Gunners position I would have been happy with a pair of shorts, it's just good to know that My Club, My Millwall cares and has thought of me.
When prem clubs send kits to other countries it is usually for pr reasons to try and get more far east or Asian supporters of which 99% of will never get to a game but will want to buy the next latest kit 3 months, anyway bring on the new season, let's show the world that we are the best supporters in the world and Roar our team to greater heights and be as proud of them as we want them to be of us.
    COME ON YOU LIONS
