Millwall complete deal for Yeovil Town midfielder Upson

MILLWALL have sealed a deal for Yeovil Town midfielder Ed Upson.

The midfielder, 24, has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Lions after agreeing terms and passing a medical.

Upson, who scored the winner for the Glovers at The Den on the opening day of the season, is believed to have cost around £100,000.

Ian Holloway's fourth and seemingly final signing of the January transfer window is not eligible to face Reading tomorrow.

    Definitely got the potential to be a good replacement for Liam Trotter. Hopefully this deal can be done in time, and for £100,000 is good value for a 24 year old midfielder.

    Should be a good signing, good passer of the ball and has three times the energy of Trotter. IH is certainly sorting things out now let's get some points to keep us up

    HOLLO-WAY OR THE HIGHWAY!! I love it. A manager who is doing what he says. He's trying to shape the team as swiftly as possible to fit his footballing philosophy. You won't sign a contract, then you will go. Great stuff. Just hope we have time to gel to keep us in this division

        @markbrowns: All Wall fans know Forde's limitations.... and are not fooled by his performances for Ireland. I hope he signs and doesn't come the ould Billy Big Boots bit. I here Holloway has had a revolving door fitted in the players dressing room

          @Eddie Grace: If we can get rid of him and get Federici from Reading that would be a result . I think Bywater reminds me of Pat Cuff we need Another
          Great keeper thats the start of a solid deffence

    Keogh going makes sense, Trotts not so. He is our most valuable player and should be cashed in for a proper amount of money. Not on a free with a possible crap amount in the Summer.

      @WestKentLion:
      mate, he was out of contract in the summer so would have gone for free. He didn't want to sign again with us, even after he was offered double his money. To be fair, we haven't got a whole load of clubs smashing down the door to buy him, so whatever we can get for him now is better than nothing later on. He's had his day, now he can go and make space for someone who wants to play like a lion! IH legend!

    Welcome to the Den Ed Upson hope you have a succesful time at this great club. Thanks too Liam Trotter for recommending Millwall in such "glowing terms" to you. Shame he had to leave.

    Never known such ezciting times at the club for a long time, now for Reading! They need taking down a peg or two.

      Permanent Signings had to have been registered by Midday Friday to be eligible for Saturday's game.
      Loans are a lot easier to process, so they only need to be signed by 11pm to become eligible.

      Just good old Red Tape getting in the way.

    IMO one of the best Millwall signings for years. Young quality player ala Rae. Well happy with our window dealings. Could have done with a few more outs!!!!!!!!
