Blackpool plan deadline-day loan move for Millwall's Keogh

ANDY Keogh is a loan target for Blackpool, NewsAtDen understands.

Caretaker manager Barry Ferguson wants to bring the 27-year-old to Bloomfield Road until the end of the season and has approached the Lions about a deal.

Keogh, who moved to The Den from Wolves in January 2012, has featured in each of boss Ian Holloway's first three games in charge.

But the Republic of Ireland international is out of contract in the summer and may look to secure his long-term future elsewhere.

Blackpool are desperate to strengthen their squad after a dismal run of form led to the sacking of Paul Ince, and hope to seal a deal for Keogh before Friday's transfer deadline.

This is going to depend on Ollie getting Jackson in. That being the case, he'll let Keogh go.

@NICKOLA: Good point, but Keogh did seem to be finally recovering some form. Be a shame if he goes to Blackpool and starts playing well again!

@glyngo: Where you there Tuesday night, because I never saw him produce any of the above traits that you espouse, for me he light weight, gives the ball away too much, cant tackle, and like some others in the side dissapears during a game. So if he leaves I cant see him being missed.Plus it will cut the wage bill by a nice few quid.

At the moment we do need him even though for me he's the biggest weakest link in the whole squad. Void of confidence = understatement. Would rather sell him but who's gonna buy him? Nobody. Jackson in Keogh out = very good business.

Just left a comment on Keogh on the Jackson story- copy and paste! = I've found it frustrating watching Keogh lately- It seems he just can't replicate the form he had playing alongside Kane. He was fantastic during that period- created chances out of nothing, chasing defenders non stop and then clinical to boot. Would love to see him turn it around under IH- his work rate's improved- but he's been off the boil for a long time now... if he does go I wish him the best of luck- just not when he's playing us!

These players have had half a season to prove themselves & look where we are. Holloway is as desperate as us to succeed so I trust any decision he makes to be honest. I've always admired players with tons of pace so would welcome Jackson with open arms

Looks good business if we get Jackson and Easter is set to return who gets on well with IH. There has been a problem up front and a shortage of goals which IH seems to realise. If we can't score we can't win simple as that so hopefully IH will remedy that soon. Who is willing to bet that DJ will put the ball in the back of the net again this Saturday?

We shouldn't be loaning our relegation rivals a striker. If he finds form he could keep them up.

Another player like Trotter that has gone stale at 'Wall. Not really a striker but not really a winger. Move him on please IH.

Keogh had been playing for a place in the Irish World Cup Squad. When he was omitted he publicly slated manager Trapatoni and stopped performing for the club! Ollie has given him a fair chance to prove himself.

Release Keogh, not much to give away to the opposition imo. Sign Jacko and with DJ and Moro, not forgetting Jacko + Moro played at Norwich together surely these three will have goals in them.

This must be dependent on us getting Jackson. If Keogh and McDonald go as rumoured on an earlier thread this could leave us light up front if there are injuries or suspensions as we would only be left with Morison, Easter, Campbell and Marquis who is not Championship standard.

@denilson: don't. Matter if Keogh goes, he just don't score, so we can convert anyone to go up front and not score. Anyway Ollie will get someone else in if we look a bit short.

What is interesting from all today's threads is that IH is IMO already aware of some of the disruptive influences in the squad and is going to shift them out. I wouldn't consider Trotter, McDonald or Keogh as part of our deadwood yet they could all be gone by tomorrow night.

@Lincolnshire Lion: Keogh may not be the best player at our club but he sure isn't a waste of space. He lost a child and that affected him but he still gives 100% every game. He also lumped Bywater for going on about West Ham so give the man some credit!

@harryfabian: absolute garbage....how long are you going to play that card. We all go to work and have to get on with life losing a loved one is part of life. If you want an example of that look at Jimmy. Yeas he's so concerned about his family he posts pictures of his wife's boobs on twitter. He has openly said he hates the club and it's supporters. The bloke is a complete waste of space as far as Millwall are concerned. But hey your are welcome to your opinion that's mine.

Looks like holloway has seen wot we hav been seeing.so get rid if we can get SJ. We need to start signing players instead of loans. The players need to no they can't run bk to their clubs when goin gets tough.
