Millwall boss makes Tottenham youngster his first signing

MILLWALL have sealed a loan deal for Tottenham youngster Ryan Fredericks.

As revealed by NewsAtDen, the 21-year-old Spurs academy product, who can play right back or in midfield, has joined the Lions in time to face Ipswich Town this Saturday.

He will remain at The Den for the next three months.

New boss Ian Holloway has pushed ahead with a deal to sign Fredericks instead of pursuing his interest in Swansea's Jazz Richards, who had also held talks about a move to The Den.

Fredericks has made one appearance for Tottenham so far this season, coming off the bench in a 4-1 win over Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League last month.

Never heard of him but given what's been going on this week I'm happy with Ollie's knowledge.
At least he'll be in the green !

It doesn't say how long for.
Look forward to seeing him. I think with the physical state of our squad that he might stick him straight in tomorrow.
Welcome Ryan. I am sure Andros would of told you all about us and what we expect.
    Good luck.

This is a fantastic move by Ollie!! He said he wants balance between the old and young players so looking at youth to bring a bit of pace and energy to the side!

I heard Ollie also say he doesn't care about the past of the players as it's about the hear and now, possibly meaning Robinson & Dunne, so could mean this guy could come in place of Dunne if he isn't up to it anymore!

Would be great to try and get Harry Kane back or just to get more youth players in... that means we could finally see Fred in a Millwall shirt!

Just what we need some mobility.

Danny Shittu got it wrong when he heard that IH was looking for hunger from his players!

Let's be up and at them tomorrow COYL!

our team is to old, we need good young talent, seen this lad b4 not bad, in the realms of the lad smith we had from spurs. Olly beak knows what he's doing. fresh legs with skill!

It might be a mistake to throw him in the first team tomorrow, on the bench yes. Holloway says he has already picked tomorrows side.

If he turns out as good as the 3 previous Spurs loan players we have had in the last few years, then he can only improve Ollies new charges. Welcome Ryan to Millwall. COYL!!!!!!!!

Hope I'm wrong, but not sure about this one, at the age of 21 he has only played 4 games (on loan at brentford) in his career!
But in Ollie we trust so good luck mate and put my doubts to rest!

@TheBermondseyBomber: I think he's been brought in to boost the midfield myself. Dunne and Hoyte are hanging on by their fingertips though. A week in Portugal, and we'lls see a few more coming in after they get back. Two centre halves at least. Proven at this level.
By the way, does anyone know what's happened with Breaker ?

@NICKOLA: I was wondering the same thing myself. According to Wilkpedia he is still with Millwall. The interesting thing is that he was assistant to Holloway at Plymouth and followed him to Leicester so I assume there must have been some sort of fallout because Holloway obviously no longer wants him as part of his backroom staff.

@denslions: Well we can't have three first team trainers so presumably he's been told to sling his hook.

Spoke to a mate who follows Spurs and apparently this kid is rapid...."quicker than Lennon were his words". I know that doesn't account for too much much given his obvious speed I fancy IH may use him on the wing. Other than Feeney, who the jury are still out on, we have no real natural ride sided width.

@Scotty1609: It's ok having someone very quick in the side but can the other old codgers keep up with him. It's no good him getting ready to cross the ball when the rest of them haven't managed to get in the opposing half!

@Scotty1609: I don't think the jury is out on Feeney, he showed no interest in playing for us, so get shot for a fwe quid to whoever wants to buty him.

He only played four times for Brentford because Spurs called him back as first team cover, though he never came on for them last season

Ryan is only on loan for 3 months hope he fits in as we need some younger players if Fred performs to his ablities I can see him winning a place sooner than expected.

@Peckhamlad: well if anything, we've brought another right sided player in so it's down to one or two on things, 1) he thinks Dunne and Hoyte are not fit enough in his (Holloway) 4-3-3 formation or 2) Feeney is not fit enough. I'd go for the latter myself as lomas and Harris have not bothered with him.
I also think the likes of pavey and fred will feature a lot more this season under h ollie and his backroom team.
