Talk of deal for Palace forward played down by Holloway

MILLWALL manager Ian Holloway says he is not currently interested in a deal for Crystal Palace attacker Stephen Dobbie.

Holloway signed Dobbie twice during his time as Blackpool boss before bringing the 31-year-old to Selhurst Park last season to help fire the Eagles to promotion.

Dobbie recently returned from a third loan spell at Blackpool and is expected to be on the move once more during the January transfer window.

But Holloway said: "There's not really anything in that one - not at the moment. I have got Scott McDonald and I want to see how he works.

"Dobbs is probably in that sort of role. I want to encourage the lads I have got first. We will try to make signings and improve the squad, but I'm not sure what will come off.

"I only want good players and I don't know when we'll get them."

@bish2013: Don't think so. Did you see what happened to West Sham when they played some youngsters in their team, smashed by Forest. We need quality, albeit Champioship/League 1 level, but players who can control the ball, are comfortable in possession and know where to be and when......bit like Man City really.

Beedo im not talking about fielding 11 of the youngsters like they did just get a couple that can give us a new dimension and can change the game. We have already got some quality players that should be able to sort it out with the main man Holloway

The first thing IH needs to do is pick his team for the weekend, and get them playing like the mean it, he will need to move on a few to free up money for anyone new if we are lucky to get anyone down here, other than those in the last chance saloon wanting one last half decent contract.

Then if he can get anyone lets hope he gets someone who has got a longer shelf life than some of our recent recurits, which in turn may help him put together a team able to stay up in this division and maybe put a tilt at going up next term, buit first Saturday Ollie 3 points required and a clean sheet, that would make all our weekends.

I think he knows what players he's after. All that about having already got McDonald is a smoke screen. Lomas would of been slagging him off. Proves what a good manager we've got. Lov it.

I think this article is just to fill a void as Holloway is keeping his cards close to his chest. Which is good.
Anyway there is no point in bringing in someone who is no better than who is already in the team.

As long as if it's a forward he puts in the net and if it's a defender they keep out our net simple

@Mo Slater Fruit and Veg: Dont see that one going anywhere yes his family are from Rotherhithe, but Kennys team are paying him 40k a week as he is still on the premiership contract when they bought.

KJ has had him with the under 21 squad for most of the season, and thats just what we need another under performing midfielder to add to the squad and lets face it when he was here before on loan from Spurs he did not exactly set the world on fire, get someone young and hungry to impress, if Ollie can get some points on the board why not try to blood one or two of our own younsters.

That could with some luck save JB a nice few quid and really give us somthing to cheer about a good young player who has come through the ranks, every one is happy.
