Preview: Birmingham City vs. Millwall

SHANE Lowry and Steve Morison will return to the squad for Millwall's trip to Birmingham City on Tuesday, but Scott McDonald is an injury doubt.

Lowry has now served a three-match suspension incurred by his red card against Derby County last month, although the Australian is only likely to make the bench with Scott Malone impressive in his absence.

Striker Morison was ineligible to face parent club Leeds United on Saturday but is expected to return to the starting line up in place of Jermaine Easter.

McDonald is touch-and-go with a knee problem, which required an injection last Friday, but boss Steve Lomas is unlikely to risk him at St Andrew's.

Mark Beevers remains sidelined with ligament damage.

Wade Elliott, who is struggling with a calf strain, is a doubt for the Blues.

David Murphy's knee injury will be assessed, but Akwasi Asante (hamstring), Lee Novak (leg), Hayden Mullins (calf) and Neal Eardley (knee) are out.

    Dear Mr Lomarse
THANK You for doing a good job over the last 10 days. Please keep Lowry on the bench and ONLY play him in future in his original rightful position as a centre half.
    Best regards
    Darren James x

@dannyoc: It's amazing what can happen when you have a defender who can actually play football and not rugby.

Oops. That was a typo. Woolford for Martin definately but I think he'll go with Trotter.
McDonald should be back next game. What a plethora of talent we've got on the bench now !!

Millwall Wembley boys found not guilty today. A win at Bimingham will complete my very happy day and I'm in such a good mood I'd take a draw.

@kempo_123: Heard today mate - all 3 not guilty. Had to have all that s*** hanging over them for 6 months. What sickens me is that there are so called Millwall supporters out there who had them guilty and sentenced.

Lomas will always be west ham even if he gets us to the top they will always say we needed a west ham geezer to get us there, the team are the ones who do the work, they just needed time to gel together. Malone has been class the last couple of games and Robo soild, we need to start realizing we can go through the middle and we are not just a wide playing team.

A man came to fix my washing machine yesterday. I have no idea of what team (if any) he supports, or of his political or other views. The point is that the washing machine now appears to work.
If Lomas has now 'fixed' Millwall why bother about his background? One-team professional footballers like Barry Kitchener are very rare. Having grown up in Northern Ireland and managed football in Scotland, SL is well aware of ancient (and not so ancient) hatreds. Wish SL all the best. There is no white knight who will come to the rescue if SL and the team fail.

@Peckhamlad: After listening to that first half, I can't see us keeping Birmingham quiet and getting 3 goals at the same time! Be happy with 2 each but bet Lomas is going off his tits in that dressing room and he needs to aswell. Not a patch on performances from the last three games.

Looks like we all got a bit carried away. Sounds like we are back to lumping the ball forward again and Lowry's not even on the pitch.

This is not a criticism, merely an observation.

Maybe with morro and waggie available today we should have played a 442 formation. If the two up top played closer together they may have been able to feed off of each other.

However, we no longer have a right winger to give the balance.

Now if we had kept one if them it may have been an option.

    Hindsight is a great thing!

The effort of the past few games has to be replicated every time we step on the park.

Otherwise this is the end result.
