Lions will only sell Henry "on their terms" amid Wolves link

MILLWALL insist they would only sell James Henry if it is "on their terms" after the winger was linked with a move to Wolves.

The winger, who was left out of the Lions squad for the 1-0 win over Charlton, is tipped to join the League One club, managed by former boss Kenny Jackett, on loan with a view to a permanent move in January.

The 24-year-old is in the final year of his contract so would command a nominal transfer fee. It is understood Henry's agent has been circulating his client's name around clubs for several months.

But a Millwall source said: "Nobody will leave this club unless it is on our terms."

We're only in this situation because the board has adopted Kenny-Jackett syndrome and dragged out signing him up before it's too late. Ideally I wouldn't sell him but seeing as though he only has 12 months left, Lomas doesn't seem to rate him and perhaps he wants to leave, maybe it would be best if we got 500k out of him. Bug even that's a rip off. Poor from Ambler.

@harryfabian: how do you know Ambler hasn't tried to sort his contract earlier. Do you know his or his agents demands ?

@Steve: Ambler is at fault. If Henry's demands were too big, we should have tried to sell him in the summer. That way we could get a little more money out of him. Waiting has done no good as it looks like he won't re-sign and his price tag has dropped.

@deano22: agree a decent winger but not hardworking enough for me and must of fallen out with lomas, if he goes on loan like feeney, we will be short on wingers

@Loudest-in-BLK45: Maybe SL is clearing the wing space to bring in Odubajo from LO in January, Henry has been one of our better players but has not being doing it for a while so just part of the process in squad overall, if he does to Wolves we should get 500K for him, good business in my book, great win today COYL

Can't really answer the poll without knowing his intentions or what's going on behind the scenes, would he sign a new contract and knuckle down like he did to win his place back from Feeney, is he one of the 'stale' brigade, does Lomas just not fancy him? When he's at his best, probably my favorite Millwall player, really exciting to watch and he can terrorize defences; but we don't see that Henry enough. Frustrating in the same way Trotter is, except that when he has 1 really good game he'll usually go on a run of several good games.

If he's looking to reunite with KJ then there's not much the club can do except grab as much badly needed cash as poss and let him sod off. Would like to see him stay but better players have gone before, that's life !

If he wants the move let him go, would free up some cash to bring in a decent fullback or winger.

James Henry IS my favourite player. He would be the first name down on my team sheet. However at 24 years old he still has a long way to go and I believe he'll be worth about £2 million in a few years. I think selling him is the wrong decision but putting him on an emergency loan would be better.

For me he hasn't got the pace to be a great winger, and has too many poor games. He went through a stage of believing some good publicity and I think it went to his head. If his agent has been punting him round for months with no bites, then that says a lot about what other managers think. Let him go to a league he is comfortable in and get some much needed cash. We need pace and a bit more quality in the team. IMO

I gave up on him after his injuries he's had, never been any good as a winger since. might as well out him on lone with view to sell.

The latest in a long line of Millwall wingers who promise far more than they deliver. On his day he can terrorise full backs and his final delivery is good, but he has far too many off days and if you look at his career stats he's always struggled to play a full season.
Wolves will offer him more money, he'll sparkle in League One, help them get promoted and then perform in fits and starts just like he always has.
He's one of our top earners and we really need them to be producing week in week out!

If he wants to move on then there is no point in keeping him. However with Feeney now out on loan we will be short of width on the right side of the team. Also, he certainly wasn't one of the players who I considered to be deadwood in the squad. You could argue that some of the players we thought to be deadwood like Malone, Abdou and Woolford have now become part of SL's plans so if he lets players like Henry go this is obviously part of his rebuilding process.

Millwall need to get some interest from other clubs to bump up the price. Also they need to learn that contracts are sorted out when a player has a year left on their contract. If the player doesn't want to sign then you sell them.

I'm told its a featured game on the football league show tonight! Should make for some good viewing after a few beers! Nice to see the BBC have stuck their neck out on us and Leeds instead of skysports slating us for racism with every oppertunity! DNG and Johnny Marquis on the score sheet today! DNG can get f***** but fair play Marquis! Keep it up son!

The board have cocked up again by letting him reach the final 12 months of his contract.
I would suggest we demand 500k from wolves plus a bonus of 250k when they get promoted!

It's funny how these things become the boards fault and not Kenny's or Lomas but when the board do sign a player (Easter) they get slated

Good player but just nit consistent and this season has largely failed to perform to his own high standards. Sell and make money or saved wages whilst we can.

@ Steve... I do not know for sure that the board have cocked up Henry's contract butt as the ole Millwall saying goes its what we do!

Furthermore I would not trust Ambler with the buying and selling of a pork pie so my gut instinct is to blame him and his mukkas!
