Preview: Charlton vs. Millwall

MILLWALL manager Steve Lomas could name an unchanged team for Saturday's South London derby against Charlton at The Valley.

Steve Morison will be hoping his goalscoring impact from the bench against Blackpool will be enough to earn him a starting berth, but Lomas is set to stick with the same starting XI.

Morison has only just returned from a double hernia injury and may not be fit enough to play 90 minutes – although, as he is ineligible to face his parent club Leeds United next weekend, he would have an extra week to recover.

Doubts persist over the fitness of striker Jermaine Easter after a hamstring injury, while Shane Lowry remains suspended, but otherwise Lomas has no fresh selection concerns.

Charlton have been boosted by the return of talisman Yann Kermorgant after he missed Tuesday's loss to Huddersfield Town with an ankle injury, but defender Chris Solly is out.

Whilst Moro likes a goal or 2 against Charlton I think it needs to be an unchanged side!!

@TheBermondseyBomber: I agree Bomber, let the players get used to the system. Also hope, that as its on TV, the morons don't play up and shame the club any more that they have in the past. I am feeling good about the game and a positive result.

@TheBermondseyBomber: Agreed, If there are to be changes they need to be subtle and over time. Any news on Woolford? he limped off on tuesday....

@TheBermondseyBomber: whilst I do not disagree Bomber, after Tuesday night it would not be right to change the starting team but I see Moro & Mcd in a partnership, Moro & Waghorn in a partnership but not Mcd & Waghorn, hope I am wrong still think we will win on Sat though

        @Weller:
Your opinion seems based on the need for one or the other strikers' height. Macdonald & Waghorn would certainly work against the more 'difficult' opponent. Formations should always be set up to counteract the opposition's strategy.

Lowrys gonna find it hard work getting back in the first teamnow and rightly so, hopefully he will learn from his silly mistakes!

@conor: The side looks far more balanced with Malone in the side, much better distribution and link up with the MF and forwards.

Never change a winning team!!! Let Morro make a impact and prove he is wothy of a starting place from the bench, it's all about competition for places and hunger!!

Let's not forget that they also beat Leicester who were a top-of-the-league team plus Kermit-gant is back in their attack. They have also scored in all but one game (Middlesbrough) - so no silly defending errors Beevers! Keep it tight at the back Robbo and show those in a blue shirt that haven't played against an anorak side the way it should be done.

    Come on you Lions!

Can we have some team selections please as I'm sure Mr Lomas reads these entries,
A draw will be OK, but a win will set us up nicely for Leeds and Brum,

It has to be same as Tuesday. I'm sure if he sticks with that we'll be ok.

20 comments on here at the time of writing this and not one swear word. Does that mean everyone is feeling better about things or is it just that the people who insist on using ex-directory words haven't joined in yet?

@NO1LIKESUS: No1 not bothered by height but my perception is that Moro is better playing offf the shoulders of the CH'S as they say than Mcd or Waghorn but agree with you on your opposition comment

Half way there! Surely must substitute Waghorn with Morrison for second half not only to protect him from a red card for this match, but Morro not available against Leeds so we will need Waghorn then

watching for £10 on sky passport scrappy game but Lions well deserve their goal as they have had most of game. Millwall 7 attempts at goal to Charlton's 1. Long way to go and a few heart stopping moments due to some wayward passing. Millwall playing well. COYL!
