Preview: Millwall vs. Derby County

STRIKE duo Andy Keogh and Scott McDonald are expected to be fit for Millwall's match against Derby County on Saturday after recovering from minor knocks.

Keogh had been struggling with a groin injury during the international break but the Lions' top scorer has confirmed he "feels great". Boss Steve Lomas says Keogh has "looked sharp" since returning to training.

Lomas is confident that McDonald, who banged his knee, will feature against the Rams.

Steve Morison has an outside change of returning after surgery, but Lomas is unlikely to risk him. Jermaine Easter is definitely out with a hamstring strain but is targeting a spot on the bench against Blackpool next Tuesday.

Alan Dunne (suspended) and Jack Smith (groin) are sidelined, so right back Paul Connolly is set to make his debut after penning a short-term deal at The Den yesterday.

Millwall's attacking options have been boosted by the arrival of Leicester City's Martyn Waghorn, who will be pushing for his first appearance after training on Thursday and Friday.

Derby striker Jamie Ward could miss out with a groin strain, whilst midfielder Jeff Hendrick (ankle) has joined Shaun Barker and Mark O'Brien (both knee) on the injury list.

Former Den loanee Adam Smith is set to start for Nigel Clough's side.

@NICKOLA: A lot of Anorak mates of mine are quite confident they'll do us Saturday week. I too have never seen them beat us in all my 51 years as a Millwall fan - although they probably have but who cares it must have been a long time ago. Lets hope its three points tomorrow and the confidence will be sky-high.

      Come on the you Lions!

Not going to happen. I don't think Charlton could do the dishes to be honest.
Actually, I'm sure Charlton will be relegated.

1968 at the Valley - unfortunately I was there! A terrible game in every respect which we lost 1 - 0

However we did the double over them the following year with 12 goals between us!

For those of you that are that old, the team that day was-
King Cripps Kitchener Burnett Jones Jacks Conlon Gilchrist Neil Possee Weller.
Is that a better team than that which will play tomorrow ??

Looks like we're on a loser with Waghorn - he can be recalled after 28 days if they want to. Which means if he plays well we lose him, if he doesn't we're no better off.

Well in fairness he has been brought in as cover, I don't think Lomas had much choice.
Having said that, if he starts doing the buisness we should take the plunge and sign him. We don't want Leicester doing us twice.

After the Brighton performance I'm expecting some home improvements but we need to praise the boys a bit more rather then jump on their backs at every given opportunity.
A bit of positivity towards em and they just might deliver those rare 3 points and even rarer 3 home points.
Got a good feeling about today.
Come on wall let's get our season up and running

Millwall who have lost both home games without scoring against Derby who have won both away games scoring five and conceding one but Derby are only slight favourites in the bookies list which is probably a reflection of their heavy defeat at home LTO. From a betting perspective this game has draw written all over it.

@jim1: Yep they've made a bad appointment, it happens. If and when Lomas goes his successor has a good squad to start with. JB and AA were heroes in the summer when we started improving the squad. People can't have it both ways. Lomas is to blame for results on the pitch, he has run out of excuses.
