MILLWALL have handed a four-month contract to Paul Connolly after the right back impressed on trial.

The 29-year-old has been brought in as cover with Alan Dunne suspended and Jack Smith struggling with a groin injury ahead of Saturday's match against Derby County.

Connolly has been training with the Lions for the past week and manager premier-pharmacy.com/product-category/antibiotics/ Steve Lomas has seen fit to sign the former Leeds United defender until January 2014.

Lomas has made no secret of his desire to sign a new right back this summer, having previously shown interest in Justin Hoyte, Shaun Cummings and Paul Caddis.

Connolly, along with fellow new signing Martyn Waghorn, is eligible to make his debut against the Rams.

@Longfield Lion: Longfield, if we dont do any good this season I think JB is going to move us over the pond to be an NFL franchise as we have enough players and there is not one in his home town Boston.
Yeah I think you cant be far off with the amount of players at the club "where has all the money come from" or is there a scheme to help the unemployed football to get a job at the den and the goverment are got some money from the EU to fund it.

Got to be at least that.
I'm still convinced deals are in place to move on some of ours.
Either way, given the injuries, Connolly and Waghorn will start on Saturday.

Another good signing in my opinion! Strength in depth is key in this League and with Dunne, Connoley and also Osbourne who can play at Right Back, we have 3 players who can do a job at this level. I think we definitely have that strength in depth that we didn't have last season! Especially looking at our strikers, McDonald, Morison, Waghorn, Keogh and Easter are all useful Championship Strikers! Last season we had no one! Someones in for a right hammering soon! Lets hope its Derby! COYL

He wont need to cover Dunne this week and if he proves good enough then Dunne can join the line of those who are waiting for someone to come in for them, I think SL needs to sex up there CV's if he intends to move several players on before too long.

Connolly is 6ft 1in tall so with him Shittu/Robinson, Beevers and Lowry as the back four we should stop leaking goals from headers at set pieces. We definitely need to shift out some players though and I am not sure what we will do when all the strikers are fit as Easter,Keogh, McDonald, Morison and Waghorn will all be competing for one place if SL continue to play a lone striker in away matches.

another good addition to the squad, but need to start shifting those not required. with our gates at the moment. the wage bill is starting to get quite frightening.ALSO IS JUST BAD LUCK WITH ALL THESE INJURIES OR SOME OTHER REASON .

Two decent signings in one day. That's the good news. What we really need is a settled side that can start to progress. Prepared to give Lomas the time to try to find that. Let's see where we are at Christmas and then judge him. Unless we lose at home to Derby, of course .... 🙂

@Dazi: Dazi, If thats the case and Windy also says so we must be as the only player involved was Forde, so how come we get so many injurys in training, is it to do with the type of training they are doing or are they doing it to one another.

The fitness coach (have you seen him) or the physio must need to be answering some questions as to why we are losing so many players to injury which appears not to have been picked up when in competition. Also in the same vein why did it take so long to get so many players match fit some were several weeks after they signed for us worrying.

Bloody iinjuries have always been a curse for Millwall, I am not convinced about this trainer but I was told the players love him. As for wage bill that's JB's problem not the fans, lets hope all these signings turn into results and hoist us up the table. Can't wait for Saturday now!

@DiggerWall: JB MUST have agreed to it so obviously has the money. It shows his commitment to the club as well. Thanks JB.

Last year people were moaning at the lack of the club's ambition - JB has certainly shown that! Let's face it, last year, minus Wood and with Trotter's form and fitness, we were a long way off having a competitive squad at this level. We now have better players and I still feel given a chance it will show in our performances and position come the end of the season. Agree we've got to shift some deadwood out tho'

We need to ship out 9 or 10 to keep the wage bill under control, and once we start winning the gates will increase. Wall have always been unlucky with injuries, I remember the club paying a Russian 5K a week to lay on the treatment table but that was years ago. Nothing has changed much apart from the number of treatment tables. COYL
