SIMEON Jackson, who Steve Lomas had admitted was one of his striker targets, has signed for newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Braunschweig.

Jackson had widely been expected to join Championship rivals Bournemouth after leaving Canada's Gold Cup squad to attend to "club matters" yesterday, but has opted for a move to Germany instead.

The 26-year-old has signed a two-year contract. He said: "I am happy to be joining Eintracht Braunschweig and am looking forward to testing myself in Bundesliga 1."

General manager Marc Arnold added: "We're happy to have signed Jackson. He is the second new signing for our attacking lines, he is a flexible player and good on the counter."

No loss to us IMO, wasn't fussed if we signed him, especially on the wages he would expect. Hope we sign another striker soon. Suspense is killing me! COYL!

@Kennyp: Yes the transfer speculation has gone a bit quiet lately in respect of our targets but hopefully there is a lot going on behind the scenes.

@Sealion: I heard from a very good source today ( millwall admin staff) that Ethrington is joining millwall stoke and millwall are going Half each on his wages. That come from a millwall season ticket holder who's niece works in the offices at the den. Lets hope I'm not made a fool off lol.

@sunflyfootball: I've just heard that Chaplow is on his way to have his medical. Blimey, if the rumous regarding Ethrington and Chaplow are true we will certainly be a force come August.

@Kennyp: It would've been an even bigger surprise if Jackson had come to us.

Never looked interested in joining us, he will make little impact in Germany.

@glyngo: That's a bit unfair Glyngo, we don't know what went on discussion wise and he's said nothing detrimental about us. I wish him the best of luck and if it doesn't work out he'd be a good addition for us in January.

I don't think any of should lose sleep over this at all. I'm certain SL will bring in a striker who'll improve the squad. COYL.

I am very interested to see Keigh and Morrison back on the pitch together, there is real potential in that partnership if they can both find form. Easter never really let us down last season, don't think he will set the World alight but he has goals in him. I am looking for the impact striker though, we are missing one of them that can come off the bench and score a late goal.

I think we could with a midfielder that can drive into the box with good ball skills. Another Tim Cahill would be nice but they're few & far between.

Jackson would have been a good signing. Another good striker is essential as I still think the current squad is not strong enough up front. Millwall needs strength in depth to see the club through the season.

@Peckhamlad: Well said PL. Definitely a missed opportunity but maybe it was never a goer from day one. So much for the 'he's definitely joining Bournemouth' rumours.
For all the talk, the only signing of any note is Morison, on loan. Early days though...........
