BEN Reeves was the most impressive trialist in a Millwall XI that were beaten 4-2 at Welling on Tuesday night – but he is unlikely to be offered a deal.
The 21-year-old was released by Southampton in May but it is understood neither he nor fellow trialists Nigel Neita, Aziz Deen-Conteh and Denzil Gerrard are considered as potential additions to the first-team squad.
Manager Steve Lomas, who watched from the stands, said: "We're giving some opportunities to people to come in, train and maybe play an occasional game for the development squad.
"When any trialist comes in you're taking a close look at them, but fundamentally they have to progress the club. We're not going to bring somebody in that's not going to improve the team, it's as simple as that."
Charlie Penny and Ben Thompson scored the Lions' goals as a young side, coached by Neil Harris and Scott Fitzgerald, were well-beaten at Park View Road.
