Millwall striker target Jackson looking forward to next move

SIMEON Jackson is unsure what the future holds for him after being released by Norwich City – but is excited by the prospect of a fresh start at a new club.

Millwall boss Steve Lomas has made no secret of the fact that he wants to sign Jackson on a free transfer this summer and has held preliminary talks with the striker's agent.

But the 26-year-old is unlikely to make a decision on his next destination anytime soon as he will be on international duty with Canada at the Gold Cup during buy flomax tamsulosin much of July.

Jackson told the Eastern Daily Press: "I am not sure what happens next at the minute. Things are open and it is exciting, definitely, because it is a new chapter, a new phase. I am looking forward to it.

"I had a great time at Norwich. I experienced a lot of things, a lot of joys and lows as well but I've enjoyed every part of it. The time has flown. I am just delighted with how it went for me and now I'm looking forward to a new phase."

So he is unsure about his future, he is on international duty until thenear the end of July and he is excited about the prospect of joining a new club, so nothing concreate about Millwall in this peice then.
I am sure that there will be plenty of clubs in the Championship who will be looking at Jackson, also as he has just been let go by a prem side and he is only 26 he will be looking for a really good contract which I would be suprised if we can afford, so why bother printing this as htere seems to be no substance in it (at the moment) but lets see if it starts a debate regarding him coming to Millwall.

Barlion, Agree that it's highly unlikely he'll come to Millwall but Lomas is quoted as being interested so fair enough to update us in my opinion. Transfer is free, but it's his salary that might be problematic especially as he'll be on more than anyone else presumably, and is that going to rock the boat? He's real quality, we could pair him up with Morison. Now, if either of those two are playing for us by August I will very impressed!!

Luke, Thought your missus had taken your computer away for a while there..........
All I can tell you is that he's one of the '25' that's been approached through his agent and it's being discussed. I don't think we ever found out what we sold him for, though presumably around the 2 million mark but hopefully you know for sure cos I don't.
Given that he was the lightweight in the deal that took him to Leeds my assumption would be that he'd be available for half of that which to me is a very sound investment given his pedigree at this level.

          @NICKOLA: haha, she'd wish nick.
I read 1.8 and rising with add ons based on appearances probably another reason they put him in the bechio deal.
He's certainly in the same mould as wood and chairman has said he'd make that package available for a goal scorer. Wonder what Leeds would ask for him.
Agree with you nick it would be a good investment.

This would be a great signing! But don't look like he's gonna make his mind up anytime soon! Just read on sky sports paper talk that lomas wants Steve Morrison at the den! That's a quality strike force for the championship! We can only wish!

This Morison talk is a joke!! He's only just gone to Leeds.... and done reletively well - 1 why would they sell and 2 why would he come to us?

Jackson would be a class signing but it won't happen - we're still a small club in this league with no budget!

On a more positive note Buzzing to see Harris back!!

Or a problem with Jackett. To get him back he will want what he's getting at Leeds but the budget is there for that we're led to believe. Better than us ? No. Better than what we've got ? Definately.

Jackson talk is pointless as he's away and quite frankly I think we can do better in the strikers dept. He has no experience of the championship & if he was that good then Norwich wouldn't have released him.

Who can tell what Jackson could do at Millwall, or any new player for that matter, different team, different set-up, different manager can work wonders on some players. However this is all speculation, nothing concrete, a lot of talk so far. Better to wait.

On Morrison i'm not sure if he'd be the right signing, he seemed rather lazy especially in his last season but i'd welcome the likes of Bailey for sure, good grit and determination and gives 100% week in week out. My mates are all Charlton and really rate him big time. Would be nice to see some quality strikers coming in though.

I'd say that given the budget available-or what is perceived as the budget-that the one marquee signing will be spent on a striker-Morison. The other new players will be those that have been released or where the price is affordable. Bailey, Jackson and O'Hara all recently mentioned on here fit the bill and I'd be surprised if Bailey wasn't on board very soon.

I'm no clairvoyant but , I don't see us getting Simeon Jackson. It seems that we'd need him more than he needs us. Morison's career however is on the downward slope. He may be willing to join us on OUR terms. Although , he has a lot of making up to the fans to do. he left a bitter taste in our mouths when he went to Norwich.

According to Sky Sports there are supposed to be a host of clubs after Bailey including QPR, Reading, Blackburn and Bolton so I will be very surprised if he signs for us. Morison has already taken a step backwards by leaving Norwich so not sure that he would want to come back to Millwall either. Maybe we are setting our sites too high with future signings because we can't compete wages wise with most of the Championship clubs anyway. Perhaps we should be looking at the lower leagues for players wanting to take a step up. I like the look of Clayton Donaldson at Brentford for instance and SL must have seen some players up in Scotland worth considering.

@denslions: Unfortunately I have to agree with you Denslion, who is going to want to come to us instead of one of the bigger clubs ? The fact of life is that if any of the bigger championship clubs (which is most of them) happen to want any player we are after they know they can outbid us or offer better t's & c's, even the lower league players will hold out for the best offers and we are not in a position to compete with the big boys. We are only going to get players no one else wants and we have those already !
I know it sounds negative but I can't find my rose tinted specs.

Sealion - One way round this is by not letting other clubs know who we are interested in. We have already made it public that Baliey, Jackson and Morison are on our radar so our chances of getting them are nil. For instance, when Jackett signed Andy Keogh from Wolves in January 2012 that came as a complete surprise and that's the way I prefer transfer business to be done.

By all accounts Leeds are looking to sign one, maybe two, new strikers so if Morison finds himself well down the pecking order when the new season kicks off he might fancy a move - particularly as many Leeds fans already feel they got the rough end of the deal that took Becchio to Norwich. Season long loan, anyone?
